Crystal Palace Nottingham prediction 2023-10-07

Crystal Palace vs Nottingham prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2023-10-06 16:30.
Crystal Palace’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United was a bittersweet match for the club, as it did serve to end a three-game competitive winless run (D1, L2) and make boss Roy Hodgson the only ever opposing manager to go five straight Premier League (PL) games unbeaten at Old Trafford. However, the day was soured a little by the fact star attacker Eberechi Eze injured a hamstring and faces six weeks on the sidelines.

Even without Eze, a Selhurst Park return could yet inspire further progress for the Eagles, as they’ve only lost there against last season’s runners-up, Arsenal, in their last eight games in south-east London (W4, D3). However, Hodgson’s men may face a stern test here as you’d have to go back almost 20 years to find Palace’s last home H2H win when Nottingham Forest came to town (D3, L3 since).

Forest head into this fixture looking to exorcise some of their own demons, as a three-game winless streak (D2, L1) has halted their push to get back into the top half. Left-back Harry Toffolo did say it was a “point gained rather than two lost” in their 1-1 draw against Brentford last weekend though, especially considering that Steve Cooper’s side had a man sent off and came from behind to draw.

The Tricky Trees have picked up just three points on their travels so far this campaign (W1, L3), but that’s actually three more than most would have predicted ahead of the season with their opening four trips coming against last term’s top three and Chelsea. In fact, another triumph here would double their away league wins tally from 2022/23, when they finished rock bottom of the away league table (W1, D5, L13).

Key battle: Joachim Andersen was the man to bag the winner for Palace in fine style at United last weekend, making it two goals in 2023/24 already for the centre-back. His primary focus will be to stop the likes of Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi, the man who has produced a goal contribution in six of his last eight appearances of ten minutes or more for club & country (G4, A2).

Hot stat: Forest have conceded at least twice in 11 of their last 13 PL away games.
