Denmark vs Sweden prediction: WORLD: Friendly International betting tips on match 2024-06-04 17:00.
[p]Ahead of their attempt to better their hugely impressive UEFA European Championship semi-final showing in 2021, Denmark face a familiar foe in the first of two pre-tournament friendlies as they take on Sweden on Wednesday. Despite the pressure which comes from playing a Scandinavian rival though, they should be highly confident about avoiding defeat, having lost just one of the last nine H2Hs (W5, D3).[/p]
[p]Since losing two successively at home at the last Euros, Denmark have been formidable in front of their own fans, winning 13 of 15 such internationals (D1, L1), with nine of those victories being âto nilâ. While they will no doubt want to further improve on that record, head coach Kasper Hjulmand may opt to take a closer look at some of the squadâs new faces whoâve not previously been to a major tournament, like Leicester City pair Mads Hermansen and Victor Kristiansen, and Sporting Lisbon midfielder Morten Hjulmand (not related to Kasper). [/p]
[p]Somewhat strangely, Sweden go into this game with a Dane in their dugout after Jon Dahl Tomasson took over as the national teamâs first-ever foreign-born manager in March, having previously taken charge of Swedenâs most successful top-flight side, Malmö, guiding them to back-to-back league titles in his two years at the helm. [/p]
[p]That dominant spell hasnât compelled him to call up a raft of players from the club though, with attacking midfielder Sebastian Nanasi the only Malmö man to make the squad, while Yasin Ayari, who had been on loan at Blackburn Rovers under Tomasson recently, also travels. Sweden fans may want to see both youngsters get some minutes in Copenhagen, but what they would prefer to witness is an away victory – something that has happened just once in their last seven such outings (D1, L5). [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Only one player scored more than Anders Dreyerâs 19 goals during the regular Belgium Jupiler Pro League 2023/24 campaign, and the Anderlecht marksman registered his first Denmark goal involvement in March against the Faroe Islands, assisting Pierre-Emile HĂžjbjerg. Another inexperienced international is Swedenâs giant forward Gustaf Nilsson, but he has netted three times in four caps to date, including the only winner of Tomassonâs stewardship so far, against Albania. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Denmark have failed to score inside 50 minutes just once in their last nine home matches. [/p]
