Denmark U21 Finland U21 prediction 2025-06-18

Denmark U21 vs Finland U21 prediction: EUROPE: Euro U21 betting tips on match 2025-06-17 16:00.
[p]Denmark have made a strong start to the UEFA U21 European Championships, with wins in their opening two matches securing a place in the knockout stages. A 2-1 win over the Netherlands on Sunday, which built upon a 3-2 success over Ukraine, means the Scandinavian side are through to the quarter-finals for the sixth time in their history, and they will finish top of Group D regardless of the result in this fixture against Finland.[/p]

[p]Steffen Højer will be keen for his side to keep their momentum going though, as they attempt to register three successive victories for the first time in over four years. The fact Denmark have lost just one competitive international since September 2022 (W8, D2) suggests they are a force to be reckoned with though, as does the fact Germany are the only team to stop them scoring over their last 11 outings (W6, D2, L3).[/p]

[p]That might strike fear into their opponents, who are competing at just their second Euros and look set to mirror their performance in the 2009 edition, when they finished bottom of the table after losing each of their three group games. The Little Eagle-Owls are propping up Group D with just one point so far, as a 2-2 draw against the Netherlands was followed by a 2-0 defeat to Ukraine on Sunday.[/p]

[p]The latter of those results means Mika Lehkosuo’s men need a victory to have any chance of reaching the last eight. The boss can draw confidence from his side having netted at least twice in seven of their previous 11 fixtures, of which only three ended in defeat (W6, D2), but they have a miserable record against Scandinavian rivals Denmark, losing the last four H2Hs.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: William Osula netted both of Denmark’s goals against the Netherlands, and he has now scored first or last in four of his last five goalscoring appearances. Finland’s star man is Otso Liimatta, who was the joint-second top marksman in qualifying with seven strikes and has won five of the six U21 internationals in which he has netted (L1).[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Five of Finland’s last six competitive internationals have seen both teams score, as have Denmark’s last five fixtures.[/p]
