Djurgarden vs Legia prediction: EUROPE: Conference League – League phase betting tips on match 2024-12-18 20:00.
[p]A UEFA Conference League knockout phase play-off place is assured for Djurgården (W3, D1, L1) but there’s still the possibility of directly qualifying for the round of 16 should they beat Legia Warsaw on matchday six and other results go their way. After winning their last four competitive fixtures, three of them in this competition, they come into the fixture in good form.[/p]
[p]By only finishing fourth in the Swedish Allsvenskan, the Iron Stoves have not yet qualified for Europe next term, so they have every incentive to win here and score their first goal in Europe when hosting a Polish side (D1, L2). Interestingly, their first-ever European game was against Gwardia Warsaw (D 0-0) way back in 1955, and a repeat of that result would at least guarantee them a play-off place as a seeded team.[/p]
[p]Legia (W4, L1) have already confirmed at least that position and avoiding defeat here would almost certainly see them go straight into the round of 16. With the Polish Ekstraklasa now shut down for the winter break, they’ve had time to stew over last week’s 2-1 Conference League defeat to Lugano, their first loss since early October in all competitions (W4, D1).[/p]
[p]They’ve won all three previous visits to Sweden, twice against Göteborg and once against Elfsborg, so history is on their side as they look to return to winning ways, and they’ve been imperious on foreign soil in the Conference League this term (W5 – including qualifiers). As four of those games saw them score at least three times, the Militarians are hard to stop once they get on a march.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Gustav Wikheim has scored between the 60th and 70th minute in two of Djurgården’s last three competitive fixtures while Ryōya Morishita might be more likely to strike earlier as he’s netted between the 10th and 35th minute in four of Legia’s last five games.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Legia (16) and DjurgĂĄrden (15) have collected a combined 31 yellow cards in the league phase, an average of 3.1 per game.[/p]
