Dortmund Bayer Leverkusen prediction 2025-01-10

Dortmund vs Bayer Leverkusen prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-01-09 19:30.
[p]Sixth-placed Borussia Dortmund ended 2024 with a 3-1 win at Wolfsburg to register their first away league victory in what has so far been an underwhelming Bundesliga campaign for the Black and Yellows. That result followed three consecutive top-flight draws, all with a 1-1 scoreline while conceding a second-half equaliser in the final 20 minutes of normal time, something that remarkably also happened to them in both meetings last season (D2) with upcoming opponents Bayer Leverkusen. [/p]

[p]Dortmund were one of just two Bundesliga sides that avoided a loss against the newly crowned champions last term though, and they are currently one of only two clubs in the league yet to lose at home this season (W6, D2). And despite their last H2H defeat coming at their own stadium, Dortmund have a good recent record against Leverkusen at Signal Iduna Park across the last nine encounters (W7, D1, L1).[/p]

[p]Leverkusen are on an eight-match winning run, including their last five in the Bundesliga, meaning they now sit second and have moved within four points of leaders Bayern Munich, putting them in contention to defend their title. In order to cut that gap further, they’ll have to become the first Bundesliga side this season to win six straight games in the league in 2024/25![/p]

[p]The reigning champions definitely have the ability to achieve that aforementioned feat though, as they are the only club in the division yet to lose on the road this term (W4, D3) and haven’t lost any of their last 24 away league encounters. Additionally, their last such defeat on the last matchday of the 2022/23 campaign (3-0 at Bochum) was Leverkusen’s last top-flight game on their travels in which they failed to score.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Julian Brandt provided an assist in Dortmund’s last H2H win and has started all 12 of their victories this season, while Nuri Şahin’s men failed to triumph in any of the four outings that the creative midfielder missed due to injury (D3, L1) before he returned against Wolfsburg with a goal and an assist. Patrick Schick has scored all nine of his Bundesliga goals for Leverkusen this term in his last five games, netting four on the last matchday.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: From 2005 onwards, Dortmund haven’t lost the first league game of a new year (W15, D5), with three of those matches against Leverkusen (W1, D2).[/p]
