Dortmund Freiburg prediction 2024-11-23

Dortmund vs Freiburg prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-11-22 14:30.
[p]Borussia Dortmund have spent the entire Bundesliga season alternating between joyous home performances and miserable away trips and went into the international break as one of two clubs (alongside England’s Brentford) from Europe’s top five leagues to be unbeaten at home but winless on the road. As a result of their travelling woes, Dortmund are enduring their equal-worst start to a league campaign (W5, D1, L4) since 2014/15, but nonetheless should be confident of adding another three points in this fixture against Freiburg. [/p]

[p]Few would have expected Dortmund to be beneath Freiburg in the standings this deep into the season, but that may not bother them since they’ve already conquered higher-ranked Leipzig (W 2-1) and Frankfurt (W 2-0) as part of their seven consecutive home wins across all competitions this season. They’ve also made Signal Iduna Park a hellish place for Freiburg to visit by winning 13 of the last 14 home H2Hs, scoring an average of 3.29 goals per game in that stretch![/p]

[p]But Freiburg should be buoyed by their most recent performance before the international window, living up to their reputation as one of the league’s best defences to hold Union Berlin scoreless (D 0-0) in a performance that prompted manager Julian Schuster to exclaim excitedly that his team “really is incredible”.[/p]

[p]Building upon the top-five position they held at the start of the round will likely depend on taking points from the league’s elite clubs, and so far Freiburg have been unsuccessful in doing so. Two of their three defeats this Bundesliga season came on the road to league giants Bayern Munich (L 2-0) and Leipzig (L 3-1), the latter of which was even despite bagging one of the meagre four opening goals they’ve recorded this term.  [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Donyell Malen recorded three of Dortmund’s seven goals against Freiburg last season, scoring in both wins. For Freiburg, 30-year-old forward Lucas Höler was on the scoresheet in two of the last three H2Hs (all losses) and kept himself sharp by scoring in a club friendly against Karlsruher during the international window. [/p]

[p]Hot streak: Dortmund’s last eight Bundesliga matches saw both teams score. [/p]
