Dortmund Mainz prediction 2025-03-30

Dortmund vs Mainz prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-03-29 15:30.
[p]Borussia Dortmund’s managerial change last month has not had the desired effect as far as their Bundesliga campaign is concerned. Niko Kovač has lost four of his six league matches in charge to date (W2), making his the worst start of any Dortmund manager since Jürgen Röberin in 2007, and a points tally of 35 after 26 games is the club’s worst return at this stage of the season in a decade.[/p]

[p]Underlining just how poor they have been, BVB have lost a joint league-high seven of their 11 Bundesliga games so far in 2025 (W2, D2), and have conceded 2+ goals seven times during that sequence. Starting this round seven points behind the top six with just eight matches of the league campaign left, a drastic shift in fortunes is going to be needed to secure European qualification.[/p]

[p]Mainz are even further ahead of Dortmund, beginning this round ten points in front and sat third. As they look to qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history, Bo Henriksen’s side have lost only three of their 11 Bundesliga games since the start of 2025 (W6, D2), and are one of the most in-form teams in the division with no side taking more points over the last five rounds than their 13 (W4, D1).[/p]

[p]With their success so far this season built on a strong backline that has returned nine league clean sheets, the 05ers know they must keep winning if they are to achieve a top-four finish. Their quest for a tenth will be tested this weekend after key defender Dominik Kohr was sent off in last round’s 2-2 draw with Freiburg. Ominously, Mainz have won just one of the last 12 Bundesliga games in which he did not start (D6, L5).[/p]

[p]Key battle: Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Korbel is yet to lose in eight career H2Hs with Mainz (W6, D2), but has kept just three clean sheets in the process. Attempting to beat him here, Lee Jae-sung has registered six goal involvements in six Bundesliga games against Dortmund (G4, A2), his highest top-flight tally against any German club.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Ahead of the round, only Bayern Munich (12) have scored more Bundesliga home goals after the 75th minute than Dortmund this season (10).[/p]
