Eintracht Frankfurt Ferencvaros prediction 2025-01-23

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Ferencvaros prediction: EUROPE: Europa League – League phase betting tips on match 2025-01-22 20:00.
[p]Victory for Eintracht Frankfurt here against Ferencváros would give them a great chance of reaching the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League (UEL) in their first season in the competition since lifting the trophy in 2021/22. Progression to the last 16 has been complicated by a 3-2 loss to Lyon on matchday six, one of three successive defeats for the Eagles to finish 2024, but 2025 has begun on a much brighter note with three straight wins, including home triumphs in their last two encounters. [/p]

[p]Frankfurt struck six goals across those two home games, and Dino Toppmöller’s men are giving themselves the best possible opportunity for European success this season too, having gone 1-0 up in all six such matches. Recent games at Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park in continental competitions have tended to be tight affairs though, with five of the last six such games won or lost on this ground being decided by a single-goal margin.[/p]

[p]Ferencváros’ chances of UEL progression hang in the balance, as they head into the upcoming round of fixtures sitting 16th – the lowest seeded play-off place. They can’t rest on their laurels as going into matchday seven, the Hungarians are only two points off the automatic qualification places while being the same distance above the bottom-12, underlining the precarious situation in which new head coach Robbie Keane and his squad find themselves.[/p]

[p]This will be Keane’s first competitive game in charge of Ferencváros since taking the reins earlier this month, but two mid-season friendlies following the winter break saw his side fail to score. He ought not to be too concerned just yet, as the Greens have only been outscored in the league phase this term by Ajax and Porto among the teams currently in the UEL knockout round play-off places after matchday six. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Eight of Hugo Ekitiké’s last ten goalscoring appearances for Frankfurt have been at home, including the opener in their UEL curtain raiser this season. Ibrahim Cissé was the last player to score for Ferencváros in Europe, but all five times that he has found the net for them, the opposition on the day have also scored. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Only one of Frankfurt’s last 12 games has been goalless at half-time. [/p]
