Eintracht Frankfurt Freiburg prediction 2023-05-27

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Freiburg prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-05-26 13:30.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s Sebastian Rode has given up on their hopes of qualifying for Europe through their league position. The midfielder conceded they “can’t influence anything else anymore” after a 2-2 draw against relegation-threatened Schalke last round, a result which left the 2021/22 UEFA Europa League (UEL) champions three points off the top six with just one game remaining.

It has been a miserable few weeks for the Eagles, who have picked up just one victory in their last dozen league outings (D6, L5). As such, their hopes of reaching Europe may rest on winning next week’s German Cup final against RB Leipzig, so manager Oliver Glasner – who will take charge of the club for the penultimate time – may choose to rest some of his key players to keep them fresh for their tilt at silverware.

That would be a welcome boost for visitors Freiburg, who are within touching distance of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history. Christian Streich’s side beat Wolfsburg 2-0 in their last match to move on to 59 points, and will finish in the top four if they better Union Berlin’s result on the final weekend of the season.

That will be easier said than done for Freiburg, who have picked up only one victory in their seven away matches against the other teams currently in the top half of the Bundesliga (D1, L5). They also don’t have a great record against Frankfurt, managing just two victories in the last 11 meetings between the two teams (D5, L4), so may have to settle for the UEL place which has already been secured.

Key battle: Daicha Kamada’s goal against Schalke last weekend means he has lost just three of the 35 games he has scored in for Frankfurt (W23, D9). Looking to put a dent in that record will be Freiburg defender Matthias Ginter, although he has never kept a clean sheet in eight previous away H2Hs (W2, D2, L4).

Hot stat: Frankfurt are unbeaten in 15 league games when scoring the first goal (W11, D4), but have also failed to pick up a single win when going 1-0 behind at home (D2, L3).
