Eintracht Frankfurt Heidenheim prediction 2023-10-08

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Heidenheim prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-10-07 17:30.
A tepid start to the season continued in European midweek action for Eintracht Frankfurt as they were toppled 2-1 away to PAOK, hardly ideal preparation as they look for just their second win of the Bundesliga season (W1, D4, L1). Only once in club history have Frankfurt had fewer league wins on the board at this stage, which puts this season amongst their six worst Bundesliga starts of the 21st century.

A home return can only be a good thing for Frankfurt after consecutive away defeats, especially as they’re yet to be beaten on home soil in competitive action this term (W3, D2). They’ve only trailed in one of those games, so a strong start in their first ever league meeting against Heidenheim would be just what the doctor ordered for the faltering Eagles.

After failing to win any of their opening three Bundesliga games, Heidenheim have incredibly picked up six of the following nine available points, a run which climaxed with a 1-0 win over last season’s fourth-placed side Union Berlin. That victory will currently go down as one of the highlights of Frank Schmidt’s historic career at the helm of Heidenheim, having risen with them from the fifth-tier over his German record 16 years in charge.

Both of those wins did come at home, so picking up some points on their travels will surely be key to Heidenheim’s unlikely survival bid. They‘ve accrued just one point on the road so far whilst conceding at least twice in every game (D1, L2), yet trips to sides who are no strangers to European football in Wolfsburg, Leverkusen and Dortmund aren’t exactly the easiest to make and less challenging away days likely lay ahead.

Players to watch: Omar Marmoush halted Frankfurt’s two-game scoreless run in their midweek outing, meaning that he’s found the net in the last two games that his side scored in. Heidenheim’s Jan-Niklas Beste has incredibly had a hand in six of his side’s ten league goals so far (G3, A3), including two direct free kick goals.

Hot stat: Ahead of the round, no Bundesliga side have conceded more away league goals in the opening 15 minutes than Heidenheim’s four.
