Eintracht Frankfurt Mainz prediction 2023-05-13

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Mainz prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-05-12 13:30.
The end of the Bundesliga season truly could not come sooner for Eintracht Frankfurt, who endured their tenth consecutive top-flight match without victory (D5, L5) when losing 3-1 to Hoffenheim last weekend, the longest winless run in the league. It’s been a truly shambolic second-half of the season for Frankfurt, who have slipped down to ninth in the table off the back of securing a league-low two Bundesliga victories since the half-way point.

To add insult to injury, they’ll be without manager Oliver Glasner as they attempt to get back into the win column, since he was sent off in that loss to Hoffenheim. It’s been confirmed that Glasner will leave the club at the end of the season but he could yet end on a high, with a DFB Pokal cup final to come in early June against RB Leipzig. There are three league games to go before that season-defining match for the Eagles, starting with a return this weekend to the nest of Deutsche Bank Park. Despite their woeful recent run, they are on an eight-game unbeaten streak at home in the Bundesliga (W4, D4) although perhaps unsurprisingly, those four draws have come across their last four games here.

Victory for the home side could see them leapfrog their visitors Mainz, who sit just two points above Frankfurt in eighth. Bo Svensson’s men haven’t been able to capitalise on Frankfurt’s miserable run and distance themselves in the standings, having lost their last two league outings, which has soured what was a fine ten-game unbeaten streak prior (W6, D4).

That collection of points does give Mainz a glimmer of hope that European football could be on the cards next season, as they sit just three points off Bayer Leverkusen in sixth-place. That hinges on their ability to bank more points here at Deutsche Bank Park, a feat they haven’t achieved too often recently, winning just twice in their last ten visits (D2, L6).

Players to watch: Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani scored the equaliser in a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture, which was one of the eight occasions he’s netted his side’s opener this Bundesliga season. He’ll need to get past Mainz defender Aarón Martín who has popped up with some important goals this season, with all five of them coming after half-time.

Hot streak: Frankfurt have not lost a league game this season when scoring first (W10, D4).
