England U21 Slovenia U21 prediction 2025-06-15

England U21 vs Slovenia U21 prediction: EUROPE: Euro U21 betting tips on match 2025-06-14 16:00.
[p]England’s defence of their UEFA European U21 Championship crown couldn’t have started much better as they eased past the Czech Republic 3-1 on matchday one. Lee Carsley’s side were one of the pre-tournament favourites to lift the trophy, and it’s little surprise they’re fancied by many to go all the way given their unbeaten run now stands eight matches (W7, D1). [/p]

[p]Thursday’s win also means that England have now won each of their last eight Euro U21 matches at the finals – the second-longest winning run in the tournament’s history – keeping an impressive six clean sheets across that time. Maintaining those strong defensive building blocks will be key to winning a fourth title in this competition, as they next turn their attentions to improving further upon their solid H2H record against Slovenia (W2, D2, L1). [/p]

[p]This game has a ‘must win’ feel to it for Slovenia, whose campaign got off to a negative start on Thursday. In their opening fixture they were routinely beaten 3-0 by Germany, a result which made it four winless outings from four in the UEFA European U21 Championships (D1, L3) and means that a defeat here will more than likely see them eliminated. [/p]

[p]To make matters even worse for Slovenia, that latest scoreline also means that they’ve now failed to win any of their last five internationals since defeating Cyprus 2-0 in September last year (D3, L2). Much of that disappointment has been born from their lack of goalscoring, netting just four total goals in that time, and with three of those coming after the hour mark, they may have to be patient if they get on the scoresheet here.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Jonathan Rowe scored the decisive goal in England’s victory on Thursday which, like his last four goals at club level, arrived after half-time. Slovenia’s Svit Sešlar comes off the back of an impressive season with NK Celje in which he contributed 22 goals in 26 Prva Liga appearances (G10, A12) – his last four goals at club level arrived before the break. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: England’s last three internationals have seen 18 goals scored in total, five of which came in the opening ten minutes. [/p]
