Estonia vs Azerbaijan prediction: EUROPE: UEFA Nations League – League C betting tips on match 2024-10-10 16:00.
[p]Since the turn of the century, Estonia and Azerbaijan have been well matched in H2Hs with both sides picking up a win apiece alongside two draws ahead of Fridayâs UEFA Nations League (UNL) meeting in Tallinn. The two teams met twice in 2023, with Estonia failing to win either clash (D1, L1), so theyâll approach this game with a bit of trepidation.[/p]
[p]After winning promotion from League D in their last UNL campaign, Estonia have found the step up a tough one, coming into this game on the back of defeats âto nilâ against Slovakia and Sweden. Those results see JĂŒrgen Hennâs side bottom of the table but a win in this game will see them leapfrog their opponents.[/p]
[p]Thatâs because Azerbaijan are also without a point after defeats against the same teams, and although they have conceded a goal more, they did at least find the net in a 3-1 defeat at home to Sweden last month. For the experienced international manager Fernando Santos, who took on the role in June, itâs been a tough start to the job but he has good memories of games against Estonia after leading Portugal to a 7-0 friendly victory in June 2016.[/p]
[p]His current side have a strong recent record against the Blueshirts as well with only one defeat from the last seven H2Hs (W2, D4) including a comfortable 2-0 victory in Tallinn last October. That marked a real turnaround for a nation who failed to even score in their first four clashes with Estonia from 1996 to 1998 and Azerbaijan will now be looking to find the net for the sixth time in their last seven H2Hs.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Midfielder Martin Miller got an assist against Azerbaijan in June 2023 and he has never finished on the losing side when contributing (G2, A2) to goals for Estonia (W3, D1). With either a goal, assist or a yellow card in five of his six international appearances in 2024, Toral Bayramov rarely has an incident free game. The Azerbaijan midfielder was also on the scoresheet in Tallinn during last Octoberâs H2H![/p]
[p]Hot stat: Estonia havenât led at half-time in any of their last 15 games since doing so away against Azerbaijan![/p]
