Everton manager Sean Dyche claimed there wasn’t much wrong with his side’s performances earlier in the season, even though they started the campaign with just one point from their opening five Premier League (PL) matches. Two defeats on the road in that time against Aston Villa and Manchester City means the visitors are staring down the barrel of three successive league losses for the first time since May 2021. Brighton prodigy Evan Ferguson has scored ten PL goals in 2023, the most by a teenager in a single calendar year since Wayne Rooney in 2005 (11). His first in that run came at Goodison Park.
