Excelsior G.A. Eagles prediction 2023-12-16

Excelsior vs G.A. Eagles prediction: NETHERLANDS: Eredivisie betting tips on match 2023-12-15 17:45.
There are few teams quite as unpredictable as Excelsior Rotterdam. This was much the case last weekend, when they got off to a dream start away to FC Twente and were 2-0 ahead within 15 minutes, but not much later received a red card and eventually lost 4-2. In the opening few months of the season, Excelsior managed several victories, but the team has now failed to win eight consecutive Eredivisie matches (D4, L4).

Last season, no single player managed to score more than four league goals for Excelsior, but in this season both Nikolas Agrafiotis and Troy Parrott have already passed that mark with five goals each. Tottenham mercenary Parrott also provided two assists, even though he has played a total of less than 500 minutes in the competition. With Couhaib Driouech and Lazaros Lamprou, the team also has two dangerous wingers. Driouech is one of the dribbling kings and speed devils of the Eredivisie and Lamprou provided his fifth assist of the season last week.

Go Ahead Eagles were widely praised in the opening rounds of the campaign and had been undefeated in home games since January, but both matches in December in the Adelaarshorst were lost. This weekend they have to travel yet again, but the Eagles wouldn’t be wanting that with two victories in their last 19 matches on foreign soil (D5, L12).

Lately, they’ve also had difficulty scoring outside of Deventer. The Eagles have scored a maximum of one goal in their last 11 Eredivisie away games. Of their last 16 visits to Excelsior, only two were triumphant (D2, L10). But more recently, against clubs to start this round beneath them on the table, they remain unbeaten (W1, D3) despite not scoring more than once.

Players to watch: Julian Baas was involved in a goal in both meetings with Go Ahead last season (G1, A1), whilst Willum Willumsson scored in those two matches on behalf of the club from Deventer, also providing an assist the first time.

Hot streak: Excelsior’s last eight matches saw both teams score on the day.
