Faroe Islands Latvia prediction 2024-10-13

Faroe Islands vs Latvia prediction: EUROPE: UEFA Nations League – League C betting tips on match 2024-10-12 18:45.
[p]Thursday evening saw the Faroe Islands, sitting as low as 140 in FIFA’s world rankings, twice throw away a one-goal advantage to draw 2-2 with Armenia, meaning their wait for a win in the UEFA Nations League (UNL) this term goes on (D2, L1). As a result, they remain bottom of group C4 at the midway mark in the campaign, with the threat of relegation back to league D still looming large.[/p]

[p]Conceding a late leveller should have come as no surprise, with Håkan Ericson’s side now having allowed at least one second-half goal in nine of their last 11 UNL games, including all three so far this term. Heading into this fourth group game, Landsliðið’s dismal record stands at one win in their last 19 matches (D5, L13), with Thursday night’s clash against Armenia being just the second in that run which has seen them score more than a single goal.[/p]

[p]Latvia (#137) were beaten 3-0 at home by North Macedonia earlier this week and have now won just three of their last 21 games (90 mins: D5, L13). Two of those three wins have at least come against the Faroe Islands, including one earlier in this UNL campaign, and having lost their other two group games so far, it’s via those three points which see Paolo Nicolato’s side sit above Sunday’s opponents in group C4.[/p]

[p]Appointed in February, Nicolato was tasked with ensuring that the Wolves survive their first UNL campaign at level C. Having become the first Latvia manager to ever beat the Faroe Islands already, the two 1-0 successes are the only wins experienced by Nicolato so far (D2, L3), and brought the only clean sheets of his short reign to date.  [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Faroe Islands goalkeeper Bárður á Reynatrøð has averaged over three saves per game in this UNL campaign so far, but has recorded just one clean sheet in eight international appearances. Opposite number Rihards Matrevics has averaged exactly three saves per game this term in the UNL, with three clean sheets to his name from nine Latvia appearances.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: There have been two or more match goals scored in 13 of Latvia’s last 15 internationals. [/p]
