FCSB Silkeborg prediction 2022-10-13

FCSB vs Silkeborg prediction: EUROPE: Europa Conference League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2022-10-12 19:00.
FCSB are in the midst of their 20th consecutive European campaign, yet it’s shaping up to be one of their worst. They sit bottom of UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) Group D with just a single point and their slim hopes of securing progression to the knockout stage of the competition could be ended here unless the hosts avenge last week’s embarrassing 5-0 defeat to Silkeborg last week.

The Romanian side did bounce back in domestic action over the weekend with a 2-0 away win against Petrolul Ploiești, yet that was just their second victory across their last nine competitive matches (D3, L4), with pressure mounting on manager Nicolae Dică who only arrived in the summer. It’s hard to foresee him alleviating that pressure here based on the fact that FCSB are without a European group stage home win in each of their last three such matches (D2, L1).

That emphatic win for Silkeborg was their joint-largest in European competition, yet more crucially it fired them right back into the knockout qualification picture following two UECL losses, meaning they’ll start the round just a point behind Anderlecht who occupy second place. They could only follow that win up with a 1-1 draw at OB at the weekend however, meaning they travel having won just one of their last five competitive away matches (D1, L3).

Not only will they be trying to shake off an underwhelming recent away record during the clash in Romania, but they’ve also got a pretty poor record on the road in European competition. Currently without a win in nine European away matches (D1, L8), perhaps the motivation of potentially qualifying for the knockouts in what is Silkeborg’ first season in Europe for 21 years could inspire them to victory here.

Key battle: FCSB’s Ștefan TĂąrnovanu might be expecting another busy evening, as he’s already conceded 14 UECL goals this season (inc. qualifiers), which is more than any other goalkeeper in the competition. He’ll face Silkeborg’s Tonni Adamsen, who has scored three goals across his last three appearances – each arriving on or after the 70th minute.

Hot stat: Silkeborg failed to score in seven of their last eight European away matches.
