Ferencvaros Fiorentina prediction 2023-12-14

Ferencvaros vs Fiorentina prediction: EUROPE: Europa Conference League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2023-12-13 17:45.
A 2-1 win over Čukarički saw Ferencváros move three points away from third-placed Genk in a tight UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) Group F. Now, it’s simple: Dejan Stanković's men need only one point in their clash with Fiorentina to seal their progression, but a win would even see them finish on top of the group.

That will be easier said than done, as the Serbian coach has taken only a point from his four previous managerial meetings with Fiorentina (D1, L3), but it was most notably in the reverse fixture (2-2). Ferencváros’ domestic ambitions also suffered a setback at the weekend when they lost a crucial league match 3-2 against Paks, leaving them trailing by four points in their title hunt.

Last season’s UECL runners-up, Fiorentina booked their place in the knockout stages of this competition again after beating Genk 2-1 in their last UECL outing. Vincenzo Italiano’s side will undoubtedly want to go one better this season and skipping the knockout round and going directly to Round of 16 by topping the group, which they can do by avoiding defeat, would definitely be a good way to move on from a frustrating Serie A draw with nine-man Roma at the weekend.

That was the sixth of their last eight competitive away matches in which they claimed at least one point, which could give head coach Vincenzo Italiano confidence. The Fiorentina boss won’t be taking his opposition lightly though, having credited opposing manager Stanković for “bringing enthusiasm and ideas” to Ferencváros after the reverse fixture. He’ll have to guard against more of that in the early stages, as the visitors are known for their fast starts in this competition, with all of their three UECL away goals in the group stage matches arriving inside the opening 30 minutes.

Players to watch: Aleksandar Pešić has scored in back-to-back UECL matches, including the stoppage time winner against Čukarički two weeks ago. One of Fiorentina’s nine different UECL scorers this term, Antonín Barák found the net in the reverse fixture.

Hot stat: Fiorentina have produced a competition high 98 shots, whilst Ferencváros started the round in sixth place with 77.
