Ferencvaros Genk prediction 2023-11-09

Ferencvaros vs Genk prediction: EUROPE: Europa Conference League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2023-11-08 17:45.
Unbeaten in Group F of the Europa Conference League (UECL), Ferencváros will be looking to record their second victory of the campaign on Thursday when Genk make the nearly-1200 km trip to Hungary. The Greens, along with their upcoming opponents and Fiorentina, are locked on five points, although they will still be kicking themselves for throwing away a 2-0 lead against Fiorentina at the start of October!

Preparing for this game will have a different feel for the hosts as they experienced defeat for the first time under manager Dejan Stanković at the weekend. The 2-1 loss against KecskemĂ©t ended Ferencváros’ run of 16 matches undefeated (W13, D3) – including the stalemate against Genk late last month – and while that run may be over, they will still be defending their unbeaten record against Belgian sides in this encounter (W2, D3).

Genk are targeting their third successive clean sheet in the UECL and their second consecutive away win of the group stage, a far cry from their previous eleven European away games when they won just once (D3, L7) and scored only seven goals! Just like with Ferencváros, a long unbeaten run dating back to early September (W5, D7) came to an end on Saturday for the Blue-Whites following a 3-2 defeat away at Royal Antwerp when they were unable to recover from going 3-0 down inside 40 minutes.

This will be Genk’s first competitive visit to Hungary, but with the country bordering Serbia, where Wouter Vrancken’s team defeated bottom-of-the-group Čukarički 2-0 last month in the UECL, they will make the trip south-east with positive recent memories of the region.

Players to watch: Ferencváros midfielder Mohammed Abu Fani didn’t play at the weekend, but scored two and assisted one in his last two appearances, as well as contributing an assist in the UECL draw in Florence. Switzerland forward Andi Zeqiri has found the net in the last two games for Genk and also scored an equaliser in the home draw against Fiorentina in this competition.

Hot stat: Ferencváros have failed to score at home only once in their last 16 competitive fixtures (W11, D2, L3), a run which stretches back to the start of April.
