Fiorentina Lazio prediction 2024-09-22

Fiorentina vs Lazio prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-09-21 10:30.
[p]After twice squandering a lead at Atalanta to lose 3-2, Fiorentina are still searching for a first Serie A win of the season under new boss Raffaele Palladino (D3, L1). Unless La Viola beat Lazio this weekend, this will be their worst start to a league campaign since 2003/04, when they amassed just four points in their opening five games. [/p]

[p]If the home faithful are searching for some confidence, then analysing recent H2Hs won’t do them much good as Fiorentina have won just one of the last six meetings (W1, D1, L4), though that single win was in the most recent H2H in February. Palladino ought to be similarly sceptical, as from his four meetings against Lazio while in charge of Monza, he failed to win any of them (D2, L2).[/p]

[p]Lazio have enjoyed a more steady start, accumulating seven points from their four matches so far (W2, D1, L1). Another win would make this the Eagles’ joint-best start to a Serie A campaign at this stage for seven years, though that would require the capital club to end a three-match winless run on the road in Serie A (D2, L1).[/p]

[p]They’ll likely need to score more than once to achieve that as Lazio, along with Parma, are one of two sides to have scored and conceded in every Serie A match pre-round. Getting their noses in front could be key, as Lazio have avoided defeat in their last ten games when going 1-0 up (W7, D3), ironically last failing to do so at Fiorentina earlier this year (2-1). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Robin Gosens has had a hand in goals in both his Fiorentina appearances so far (G1, A1) – only against Sassuolo (four) has he scored more than Lazio (three). Boulaye Dia has made a superb start to life at Lazio, netting in back-to-back matches though that’s not necessarily a good sign for his teammates, as he’s won just one of his last eight Serie A scoring appearances (D7). [/p]

[p]Hot stat: All four of Lazio’s games this term have featured at least one goal scored inside the first eight minutes.[/p]
