Fiorentina vs Napoli prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-01-03 17:00.
[p]As Atalanta, Inter Milan, Juventus and AC Milan prepare to compete for the Supercoppa Italiana, Fiorentina and Napoli will both be looking to take advantage of the quartet’s absence from Serie A action this weekend. After a sensational start to the season, Fiorentina have faltered recently, failing to win any of their last four games in all competitions (D2, L2) – the club’s longest winless run since February. [/p]
[p]If they don’t secure three points here, La Viola will have endured their longest sequence without victory since September 2022 and will also surely have waved goodbye to any lingering hopes of ending their 56-year wait for the Scudetto. And while Fiorentina have had some joy in this fixture in the last few years, those wins have come away from home, with their last victory against Napoli at Stadio Artemio Franchi taking place in April 2018 (D3, L3 since).[/p]
[p]Napoli only need a point to leapfrog Atalanta and go top of the table, but having won their last three matches, they will be eyeing nothing less than a victory. In Antonio Conte, the Partenopei have a head coach with a superb record against Fiorentina in the dugout, with Conte having lost just two of his 14 meetings with them (W9, D3), although this will be the first time that he has come up against the Tuscans’ current boss, Raffaele Palladino. [/p]
[p]As you would expect with a Conte side, their foundations are built on an extremely solid defence which has conceded just 12 goals in Serie A this season – the lowest figure in the league – while they have dropped the second-fewest points from winning positions in the division this term (two). [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Ten of Riccardo Sottil’s last 11 goals for Fiorentina have come at home, with four of those strikes arriving inside 20 minutes. For the visitors, Conte may decide to give Giacomo Raspadori his first Serie A start since August after he struck the winner against Venezia on Sunday – his first goal at club level since April, but the forward has never scored in eight previous career meetings with La Viola. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Three of Napoli’s last five away games have seen their hosts fail to convert a penalty. [/p]
