FK Zorya Luhansk vs Breidablik prediction: EUROPE: Europa Conference League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2023-12-13 20:00.
Both third-placed Zorya Luhansk and bottom-of-the-table Breiðablik head into this final round of Group B UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) fixtures having already been eliminated from this year’s competition. For the Ukrainians, this will be the second time in three years that they have finished third in a UECL group, while victory on Thursday would give them the scant consolation of equalling their 2021/22 points tally of seven.
That would also result in them doing the double over Breiðablik, who they beat 1-0 in Reykjavik in early October, which began a three-match winning streak. Since then though, Zorya Luhansk have gone nine games without a victory (D3, L6) – keeping only one clean sheet in the process – and currently find themselves in a relegation play-off position in the Ukrainian Premier League.
The Icelanders have been in even worse form, picking up just one win since the start of September (L10), and with their domestic league ending over two months ago, Halldór Árnason’s men have only had their debut European group-stage campaign to focus on across their last three matches. However, the lack of distraction has not been a benefit, and Breiðablik are one of two teams to go into this final round of UECL group games without a point on the board.
Defeat in Lublin would make it eight successive losses for Blikar, who have conceded 21 goals in their last seven encounters and have found the back of the net only eight times in that period themselves. But bowing out of Group B by picking up at least a draw cannot be ruled out as they have been beaten by a one-goal margin – while scoring three times – across their last two outings.
Players to watch: Zorya Luhansk striker Eduardo Guerrero has netted eight times in all competitions this season, including a first-half screamer on Saturday. Jason Daði Svanþórsson has scored twice and got one assist during this UECL campaign, with both goals coming against group leaders Gent last month.
Hot stat: There have been fourteen goals, with the opposition scoring at least three times in each, in Zorya Luhansk’s last three UECL games.
