France Ol. Egypt Ol. prediction 2024-08-05

France Ol. vs Egypt Ol. prediction: WORLD: Olympic Games – Play Offs betting tips on match 2024-08-04 19:00.
[p]France booked their place in the 2024 Olympic men’s football semi-final with Egypt after enjoying a satisfying 1-0 win over Argentina in a hostile quarter-final marred by ugly scenes at the final whistle. With tensions high due to recent events between the two nations, players and coaches from both camps clashed on the pitch at the end of the encounter which was settled by Jean-Philippe Mateta’s fifth-minute header – sending the hosts to the semi-finals for the first time since they won gold in 1984. [/p]

[p]There was some collateral damage from the clashes at the end with Enzo Millot picking up a straight red card and subsequent suspension. Manager Theirry Henry admitted he was “really not happy” with how the full-time scenes played out, but that aside, he’ll be extremely satisfied with how his team are performing under his stewardship. France have not only won their four matches so far at the tournament, but also kept clean sheets in each of those too. [/p]

[p]Confidence will be growing in the Egypt camp after they finally ended their quarter-final Olympic curse, reaching the last four for the very first time after 12 previous failed attempts, with three of their last four games ending at the quarter-final stage. They had looked to be on their way out before Ibrahim Adel netted two minutes from time to draw the game level at 1-1 against Paraguay. [/p]

[p]Luck was on Egypt’s side as they came out on top in the eventual shootout, although     Rogério Micale’s men will probably need to show a bit more here if they’re to reach the final. None of their four contests so far have been settled by more than a goal (W2, D2), although they havent been shy in allowing their opponents to fire in shots, facing at least 11 in each of those matches. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Mateta, scorer of the winner last time out, has netted four goals since linking up with the France Olympic squad at the start of July, each of which arrived before the hour mark. Adel has now bagged three goals in his last two matches for Egypt, continuing a trend of being on the winning side in each of the last seven matches in which he’s scored for club or country. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Only two sides have picked up more cards at the games so far than France (YC9, RC1).  [/p]
