Freiburg vs Hoffenheim prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-04-18 13:30.
[p]Freiburg’s hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the first time ever remain alive after they ended a five-match winless run (D3, L2) by coming from behind to beat Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-1 last week. Julian Schuster’s men sit sixth but just three points adrift of fourth, a gap they’ll be confident of closing when they host a Hoffenheim side they’re unbeaten against in seven H2Hs (W5, D2).[/p]
[p]The hosts have also lost just one of the last five meetings between the sides on their own turf (W3, D1), but recent struggles at home this season may open the door for Hoffenheim. Freiburg have failed to win their last three home league matches (D1, L2), and after losing both of the previous two, the Breisgau Brazilians could lose three successive Bundesliga outings at Europa-Park Stadion for the first time since April 2018.[/p]
[p]Hoffenheim did Freiburg a favour by beating high-flying Mainz 2-0 last time out, but more importantly from their perspective, it moved them eight points clear of the relegation zone. With just five rounds to go, safety is within touching distance but that looks unlikely to be sufficient to save manager Christian Ilzer, who reportedly faces the axe at the end of the season even if he can preserve Hoffenheim’s Bundesliga status.[/p]
[p]The news must come as no surprise considering that Hoffenheim have only had fewer than their current 30-point haul at this stage once in the previous 11 campaigns. An improvement on that points tally appears unlikely considering that they’ve been beaten in each of their five away matches against sides starting the round above Freiburg, with all of those defeats coming by a 2+ goal margin.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Only against Gladbach (seven) has Lucas Höler directly contributed to more goals than against Hoffenheim (G3, A3), while the Freiburg striker opened the scoring in last season’s corresponding fixture (W 3-2). On target twice last week, Hoffenheim talisman Andrej Kramarić has scored eight times against Freiburg in his career, but has blanked in each of his last four league H2Hs.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Ten of the last 11 H2Hs at Freiburg saw both teams score.[/p]
