Freiburg RB Leipzig prediction 2025-03-08

Freiburg vs RB Leipzig prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-03-07 17:30.
[p]Freiburg continue to dream of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history, with only a point separating them from the top four heading into this weekend’s matches. Julian Schuster’s men, who are perhaps benefitting from a lack of European football this season, are unbeaten in five matches since the start of February (W4, D1), though the one blemish therein came in their last match.[/p]

[p]That was a 0-0 draw at Augsburg, with Freiburg equalling their club record of five successive clean sheets in the Bundesliga. Such solidity has helped Freiburg reach 40 points – ten more than at the same stage last season – and just two fewer than they racked up in the entirety of the 2023/24 campaign, pointing to the excellent job Schuster has done replacing legendary former boss Christian Streich.[/p]

[p]A stern task therefore awaits RB Leipzig, as the visitors here have failed to score in their last three away matches (D2, L1). That has piled the pressure on manager Marco Rose, who has seen his side win just one of their last 11 games on the road in all competitions (D3, L7), with the only victory coming against relegation-threatened Holstein Kiel. [/p]

[p]A 2-1 defeat to Mainz on Saturday reportedly led to crisis talks about Rose’s future, with Red Bull’s head of global soccer JĂĽrgen Klopp believed to have saved his job. Club chiefs may be forced to act if the rut continues, as Leipzig sit down in sixth after 24 rounds – two points behind Freiburg – and at risk of missing out on a place in the Champions League for the first time in seven years.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: With eight goals this term, Ritsu Dōan is already enjoying his best-ever goalscoring season in the Bundesliga, having been on the winning side in five of the seven such matches he scored in (L2). Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško has also been in lethal form, scoring 17 times for the Red Bulls this season, 13 of which came before half-time. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Leipzig have conceded the opening goal in just two of their Bundesliga away matches this season (W1, L1).[/p]
