Freiburg vs St. Pauli prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-09-27 13:30.
[p]Freiburg’s flying start to the Bundesliga season continued with a dominant 3-0 victory at Heidenheim last weekend (W3, L1), with their current nine-point haul representing their joint-strongest start at this stage since their 2008/09 2.Bundesliga campaign. That is curiously when boss Julian Schuster arrived at the club as a player before playing a huge role in their promotion season, although maintaining that pace in the top-flight is another challenge altogether. [/p]
[p]A home return should help Freiburg as despite failing to win any of their final eight league games here last season (D4, L4), they’ve begun perfectly at the Europa-Park Stadion this time around despite falling behind in both games (W2). That pair of games already represents more home points than they picked up when conceding first at home in 2023/24 (W1, D2, L4) and they may need to do so again given that their last clean sheet here came in January. [/p]
[p]Providing the opposition are new boys St Pauli, who travel to Freiburg without a Bundesliga win since being promoted (D1, L3) despite picking up an unlikely point in a spirited performance against Leipzig last weekend. Now 16 games without a win in the top-flight with a huge 13-year hiatus in between (D2, L14), Alexander Blessin’s men must turn it around if they’re to avoid what appears a probable immediate relegation.[/p]
[p]Yet to lead on their league travels this term (L2), St Pauli may draw some inspiration from the fact that one of the four away Bundesliga wins they managed during their ill-fated relegation campaign back in 2010/11 came at Freiburg. In reality that’s unlikely to offer much hope for St Pauli, who have contributed to the meagre 14% win-rate that pre-match betting outsiders had posted across the Bundesliga as of the end of round four (W5, D7, L24). [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Junior Adamu has directly contributed to six goals in five domestic games for Freiburg this season (G4, A2), although none of those four strikes served to open the scoring. For St Pauli, Elias Saad assisted their only goal of the Bundesliga season and should he hit the target, it may be crucial as he netted decisively in three of his last four scoring appearances.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Freiburg have lost just twice as Bundesliga pre-match betting favourites since the start of last season (W8, D5, L2). [/p]
