Frosinone Monza prediction 2024-01-06

Frosinone vs Monza prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-01-05 14:00.
As we approach the halfway mark of the Serie A (SA) season, Frosinone will be satisfied with how their first months among Italy’s elite have gone overall (W5, D4, L9), though not so much recently. Over the last six rounds of games, only one club picked up fewer than the four points they’ve accrued (W1, D1, L4), and that’s Empoli, who occupy a spot in the bottom three.

As a result of their recent struggles, Frosinone are now just five points above the relegation zone ahead of the round, and concerningly, the Canaries have kept just two SA clean sheets so far this season, with only two teams conceding more than their 31 goals across the first 18 games. One a more positive note, this game does fall at home, where they’ve accrued an impressive 17 of their 19 points to date.

Their opponents Monza are in similarly poor form, having won just two of their last ten (D4, L4), with only one win from their last five on the road (D2, L2). Now firmly in mid-table rather than challenging for a European spot, the Biancorossi’s case hasn’t been helped by the fact they have conceded the first goal in six of their nine away league games, with four of those coming in the opening 15 minutes.

Monza will hope to improve on that here, given they’ve won three of their most recent five H2Hs with Frosinone across all competitions (D1, L1), scoring 2+ goals in four of those five and finding the back of the net in the second half in each of those wins. Further boosting confidence, manager Raffaele Palladino has never lost a game against Frosinone as a player (W1, D1), form he’ll look to carry into management ahead of his first H2H clash in the dugout.

Key battle: Frosinone top-scorer Matías Soulé has scored in six SA games this season, netting the opener in three of those. Despite their misfortunes in front of goal, Monza operate a tight ship at the back with one of the best defensive records in the league, largely thanks to Michele Di Gregorio’s six clean sheets.

Hot stat: 14 of Frosinone’s 18 SA games this season have seen both teams score, the highest tally of any club in the division ahead of the round.
