Fulham vs Bournemouth prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2022-10-14 14:00.
Fulham start the gameweek inside the top ten after making a decent start following their return to the Premier League (PL), yet two straight defeats for the first time this season has perhaps dented the confidence of Marco Silva’s side. They conceded seven goals across those two losses, meaning Fulham have now conceded 18 league goals this season – only three PL teams have let in more.
Silva felt his side were the best team up until they conceded a penalty at West Ham last week in their 3-1 loss, but he also admitted his side will have to “keep learning and improving” going forward. Winning here would be evidence of Fulham taking that on board given the Cottagers have come out on top in just one of their last ten league meetings with Bournemouth (D4, L5).
Many people felt Bournemouth were a shoo-in for relegation this season after they were humiliated 9-0 by Liverpool at the end of August, with outgoing former manager Scott Parker claiming in the wake of that loss that the Cherries desperately needed new players. Yet under interim boss Gary O’Neil, Bournemouth are unbeaten in five straight PL matches (W2, D3), while conceding just four goals, a total no other PL side can better during that period.
That 9-0 defeat was the visitors’ only loss across their last four competitive away matches (W2, D1) so they should be confident they can continue their recent impressive run here. Considering Craven Cottage has historically proven to be a happy hunting ground with Bournemouth avoiding defeat in each of their last seven league matches there (W4, D3), it would be foolish to assume the Cherries can’t extend that run here.
Players to watch: Coming into the round, robust Fulham midfielder João Palhinha has made more tackles than any other PL player (35). He’ll be looking to try and stop Dominic Solanke who enjoyed facing Fulham last season, scoring both of Bournemouth goals in a pair of 1-1 H2H draws.
Hot stat: Bournemouth have suffered defeat in seven of their last eight PL matches in London (W1).
