Germany vs Bosnia & Herzegovina prediction: EUROPE: UEFA Nations League – League A betting tips on match 2024-11-15 19:45.
[p]Germany have already secured their place in the UEFA Nations League (UNL) quarter-finals (W3, D1), with a 1-0 win over the Netherlands earning a top-two spot in Group A3 with two games to spare. And just a point from their next match – along with Hungary failing to beat the Dutch – will be enough to finish top for the first time in what is their fourth consecutive campaign in the competition’s top-flight.[/p]
[p]Playing here in Freiburg should be conducive to further success, as only once have Germany lost in UNL action on home soil (W4, D5). Perhaps significantly however, all four of those victories came in their last six games as hosts in the competition, while three of those wins also saw them score at least three times. Such prolific returns may be necessary ahead of a visit from Bosnia & Herzegovina, a nation they are yet to keep a clean sheet against despite going unbeaten in all their H2Hs (W2, D1). [/p]
[p]With just one point after four rounds, Bosnia sit on the precipice of immediate relegation back to League B, as manager Sergej Barbarez conceded during the week that this will be a “demanding game”. The Dragons have bounced between the top two tiers in all four UNL seasons to date, but are yet to have won a match in either of their top-flight campaigns (D3, L7). [/p]
[p]In order to stand any chance of a top-two finish, Bosnia must win here and hope for a draw between Hungary and the Netherlands, although a loss to Germany would send them down. The latter seems the most probable outcome, as since emerging victorious from their very first-ever UNL away game in Northern Ireland, Bosnia haven’t won on any of their subsequent nine trips (D5, L4), despite getting on the scoresheet in five of the last six of those matches. [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Leroy Sané may have to step up in the absence of talisman Deniz Undav, and interestingly, the winger has only scored in games where his club side Bayern Munich have won by 4+ goals this season (G3). For Bosnia, forward Luka Kulenović called it a “huge honour” to receive his first call-up, which was earned after an encouraging start to life with Heracles Almelo (G4). [/p]
[p]Hot stat: There have been 11 second-half goals scored across Bosnia’s last five UNL away games. [/p]
