Germany U21 vs France U21 prediction: EUROPE: Euro U21 – Play Offs betting tips on match 2025-06-24 19:00.
[p]Germany and Italy played out one of the best games of the U21 European Championships so far, with their quarter-final clash seeing five goals, two red cards and extra-time! It was the Germans who edged it across the 120 minutes (3-2), setting up a semi-final date with France as they look to reach the final for the fourth time in the last five U21 Euro editions. [/p]
[p]They certainly can’t be classed as an ideal opponent for Germany, who have only ever beaten France twice at U21 level (D5, L7), and there’s potential for this game to go beyond the 90 minute mark too, with four of the last six H2Hs ending in stalemate. The Germans should be confident they’ll be in Saturday’s final however this game is decided, as they’re unbeaten in their last 19 internationals, impressively winning 16 of those. [/p]
[p]France can boast a solid unbeaten run of their own coming into this semi-final clash (W6, D3), and with their six wins coming across their last seven games, it’s fair to say they have just as much momentum as Germany. The latest of those wins came on Sunday as they edged out Denmark 3-2 in the quarter-finals, twice battling from behind to reach this stage for the first time since 2019.[/p]
[p]You’d have to go even further back to 2002 to find the last time France reached the final of this competition, while their last U21 Euro triumph came way back in 1988. They appear well placed to end that near 40-year wait in this tournament, and attack could be their best form of defence here having scored 3+ goals in their last three Euro games, which is just as well given they also conceded in each of those outings. [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Germany will hope to see Merlin Röhl at the fore again given the five international games at U21 level in which he’s contributed to a goal ended in victory, including the winner against Italy. Mathys Tel was the matchwinner in France’s quarter-final and he was on target the last time these two sides met in November 2024. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Eleven of Germany’s last 12 games saw over 2.5 goals.[/p]
