Getafe Atl. Madrid prediction 2025-03-09

Getafe vs Atl. Madrid prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-03-08 13:00.
[p]Getafe find themselves in an unusual position in La Liga as they start the round just six points shy of seventh place, but also just six points clear of 18th. Their 14th-place pre-round standing suggests they should be more concerned about the sides beneath them in the table, and Getafe may be even more worried by the visit of Atlético Madrid after failing to win any of the last 24 La Liga H2Hs (D4, L20). [/p]

[p]That makes for ominous reading for the hosts, who after losing their last two in the league, are bidding to avoid three La Liga defeats in a row for the first time this season. Returning home is probably the best place to avoid doing so after losing just three times at the Coliseum this league season (W3, D7), but if that tally becomes four here they’ll have lost three H2Hs in a single season for the first time in history, having also lost a Copa del Rey clash last month. [/p]

[p]Aside from chasing historical records, Atlético have other things to worry about such as the La Liga title race and overturning a deficit in their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie with Real Madrid. Atlético went down 2-1 to their city rivals in the first leg in midweek, but they’re hosting the second leg in the days after this clash and could have half an eye on that game which arguably has more significance. [/p]

[p]They’d be wise to not look too far ahead though, as they’re in a three-horse race for the La Liga title, and as they host Barcelona next weekend, they need to win here to at the very least remain in touch with the league leaders. They look good value to do so with boss Diego Simeone overseeing an incredible 14 personal games against JosĂ© Bordalás-managed sides without ever losing (W11, D3) – the most in his career against any manager.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Christantus Uche opened the scoring in Getafe’s last victory, and has scored their first goal of the game with all three of his strikes this season, but he’s still waiting for his first home goal for the club. Atlético’s Antoine Griezmann will be relishing this fixture after scoring seven goals in his last eight personal league H2Hs. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Getafe’s La Liga matches have averaged a league-low 0.65 goals per game in the first half. [/p]
