Getafe Betis prediction 2023-01-28

Getafe vs Betis prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-01-27 20:00.
Getafe produced a battling performance at Camp Nou against Barcelona in their previous La Liga (LL) game, but eventually fell to a slender 1-0 defeat. Although manager Quique Sánchez Flores would have been proud of the competitive performance produced by his side, he was quick to remind his players that the goal is ultimately “to score points”.

In a results-driven industry, Quique can be forgiven for beginning to feel the heat after Getafe won just one of their last six LL fixtures (D1, L4), ending the previous round above the bottom three on goal difference alone. Things aren’t set to get any easier when hosting Europe-chasing Real Betis, even though the hosts can draw inspiration from a strong set of results from their last four home LL H2Hs: four clean sheets for three wins and a draw.

Starting this round in sixth and just three points behind fifth with a game in hand, Betis are sure to travel with ample motivation to end that disappointing away H2H run. But after losing away to a bottom-half side (0-1 v Espanyol) in their last LL fixture, the confidence could be lacking; as could their final third productivity after failing to score in all five away games against clubs 12th or lower at the end of last round.

Indeed, for a team sitting near the top end of the table, the Betis attack has been underwhelming so far with just 19 LL goals. Instead, their success in this campaign has been built on solid defensive foundations, with only Barcelona and Villarreal having conceded fewer goals (14) at the conclusion of the last round. Another strong showing here could hand the visiting side a fourth successive competitive shutout against Getafe for the first time since October 2004!

Players to watch: Each of Getafe’s last six LL goals have been scored by either Borja Mayoral (three) or Enes Ünal (three), whilst Betis’ LL top scorer Borja Iglesias (eight) is looking for a third career strike against Getafe, but his first at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

Hot stat: Since the World Cup, all but one of the ten competitive matches involving either Getafe or Betis were either drawn or decided by a one-goal margin.
