Getafe Betis prediction 2023-10-21

Getafe vs Betis prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-10-20 14:15.
The international window came at the right time for Getafe after they conceded two first-half equalisers away to Celta Vigo (2-2) to extend their winless run in La Liga (LL) to four games (D3, L1). Perhaps most importantly, it afforded manager José Bordalás an additional week to construct a defensive formation without central defenders Djené Dakonam and Domingos Duarte, both of whom are suspended.

That may prove a blessing in disguise for the Azulones, as they’ve managed just one LL clean sheet since the beginning of September (W1, D3, L2). That’s hampered their progress given that their attack has been firing, with Getafe’s 12 goals scored more than some clubs occupying a place in the top-half, including upcoming opponents Real Betis.

Getafe’s undermanned defence is unlikely to get any relief from Real Betis who are on a streak of scoring in four consecutive LL matches (W1, D3), including a 1-1 draw at Alavés before the international break. That, along with another 1-1 draw at Granada in their prior LL away trip, will probably go down as missed opportunities for a club that began the season with European ambitions but has more often than not failed to defeat bottom-half opposition.

There was a small win off the pitch during the week when promising winger Rodri committed to the club until the end of 2027/28, but now they need him to deliver his first goal or assist of the season to help them earn their first win in five away LL games (D2, L2). Manuel Pellegrini’s men have issues of their own when it comes to defensive personnel, with a long-term injury to Marc Bartra forcing them to turn to the free agent market for immediate reinforcement.

Players to watch: Match officials should keep a close eye on Getafe’s Carles Aleñá, who has been booked in three of his last four meetings with Betis since leaving them at the end of 2019/20. Los Verdiblancos winger Ayoze Pérez made his presence felt early once again last round, with his seven goals for any club since the start of 2022/23 all arriving in the first half.

Hot stat: The pre-match favourite lost just one of the 18 LL matches involving either club this LL season (W9, D8).
