Getafe Leganes prediction 2024-09-22

Getafe vs Leganes prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-09-21 12:00.
[p]With no win since April (D3, L7), and no victory at Estadio Coliseum since March (D3, L4), goal-shy Getafe will look to kick-start their season at the sixth time of asking when they host newly promoted Leganés on Sunday. Los Azulones did at least score for the second time this term in their 2-1 defeat at Real Betis on Wednesday, but they are yet to find the net at home in 2024/25 (D2) and concerningly registered only one shot on target across those two games![/p]

[p]That loss at Betis took manager José Bordalás’ win percentage below 30% in his second stint with Getafe and he was also dismissed from the bench in the 92nd minute to complete another disappointing evening. It all points to another tough weekend for home fans, although they can at least look to a strong H2H record against their near-neighbours, with just one defeat in their last eight H2Hs (W4, D3).[/p]

[p]Leganés got their return to the top flight off to an impressive start with five points coming from their opening three games against Osasuna, Las Palmas and Real Valladolid, the latter of whom they pipped to the Segunda División title in early June. Things haven’t been plain sailing since, with Los Pepineros failing to score or pick up a point since in defeats against Mallorca, Betis and Athletic Bilbao.[/p]

[p]Manager Borja JimĂ©nez will therefore be well aware that he needs to rectify things at both ends of the pitch ahead of this clash with their rivals – mainly at the back – where he will be looking for more resilience as LeganĂ©s reached the 74th and 65th minutes of their last two games with the score at 0-0 before going on to concede twice in both encounters. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Getafe’s Mauro Arambarri got the team’s second goal of the season on Wednesday and has only ever lost once against Leganés, while also getting a goal and an assist in his six H2Hs (W3, D2). Juan Cruz, meanwhile, has netted two of Leganés’ three goals so far this campaign and has not been on the losing side when scoring since 2021/22 (W8, D2)![/p]

[p]Hot stat: Getafe haven’t managed to score both before and after half-time in any of their last nine home games.[/p]
