Getafe Real Sociedad prediction 2024-09-01

Getafe vs Real Sociedad prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-08-31 17:15.
[p]Getafe missed the midweek round due to Real Betis’ Europa Conference League commitments and will therefore have had the entire week to devote themselves to this Sunday fixture against out-of-sorts Real Sociedad. Their undermanned squad held Rayo Vallecano to a 0-0 draw in the second round to maintain their unbeaten start, in spite of a transfer market crisis that manager José Bordalás bluntly warned could lead to their relegation. [/p]

[p]The opening fortnight was an improvement on their end to 2023/24, in which they lost each of their last five La Liga games, but their goalscoring output remains an ongoing concern. Their April 2024 3-1 victory away to last placed Almería last season remains the only one of their 13 most recent league games in which they recorded 2+ goals, a period that includes a 1-1 draw against Sociedad. [/p]

[p]Ill discipline gave a ten-man Sociedad a rare loss to Deportivo Alavés (2-1) as they replicated their start to last season in which they collected just three points from their first three rounds. They picked up after round three last season, scoring 14 goals en route to winning four of their next five league matches, so they’ll hope history can repeat itself. But head coach Imanol Alguacil, who was “very, very angry” about their loss to Alavés, will have to make do this week without suspended striker Mikel Oyarzabal. [/p]

[p]Oyarzabal was on the scoresheet in four of the last eight H2Hs so his absence could prove costly, although their defence could once again come to the rescue. Sociedad finished the previous La Liga season with the equal-second best away defensive record (GA: 19) and kept a clean sheet during a 1-0 win at Espanyol in the face of 13 shot attempts.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Diego Rico and Álex Sola could offer Getafe some unique insights into their opposition as former Sociedad teammates. Takefusa Kubo scored the sole goal away to Espanyol and will be hoping to defeat his former employers Getafe for the first time (D1, L3). [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Getafe were held scoreless in all but one of their last nine La Liga losses.[/p]
