Granada CF Betis prediction 2023-09-28

Granada CF vs Betis prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-09-27 17:00.
After falling 1-0 in the dying embers of the game against a ten-man Las Palmas at the weekend, Granada have picked up just three points from their opening six games (W1, L5), leaving them firmly in the drop zone. Granada boss Paco López kept his cool in the aftermath of his latest setback, saying that he feels “supported by everyone” at the club, which is just as well as he looks to further solidify his personal record against Real Betis (W4, L2).

A home return could be a blessing as it is at this venue that Granada picked up their sole victory (W1, L2 at home). They have conceded at least twice in all three home league games this season, so that porous backline is certainly putting too much strain on the attackers to really get going in a season in which they seek to avoid immediate relegation.

Things also haven’t been going particularly well for Betis, who have recorded an identical league start to the dreadful 2019/20 season which saw them finish in 15th (W2, D2, L2). Boss Manuel Pellegrini has cut a rather rattled character in the past week as well, calling their 1-0 defeat to Rangers in Europe “unfair” before turning his ire towards Cádiz after a 1-1 draw on Sunday when declaring "not beating Cádiz at home is two points lost."

All things considered, the Chilean tactician may expect a bounce back against a relegation-battling side, but winning here is by no means guaranteed after conceding a shocking nine goals across their last two away league games (L2). That’s not to mention the fact that Betis have won just one of their visits to the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes across the last decade (W1, D1, L4).

Players to watch: Granada’s Lucas Boyé scored three goals across his last five appearances, and with a goal and an assist from his three personal meetings with Betis, he could yet strengthen his run. Trying to outdo him will be Betis midfielder Guido Rodríguez, who scored last weekend but is known more for his misdemeanours, picking up yellow cards in four of his last six league appearances.

Hot stat: Six of Pellegrini’s eight personal H2H matchups with Granada produced over 2.5 match goals (W5, L3).
