Granada CF Cadiz CF prediction 2024-01-03

Granada CF vs Cadiz CF prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-01-02 16:00.
With just one win to their name after 18 La Liga (LL) rounds (D5, L12) in what has been their worst ever 18-game start to a top-flight season, the situation is becoming increasingly desperate for Granada, who are only kept off the foot of the table by a winless Almería. Sitting seven points adrift of safety, they’re offered a lifeline here as they host a Cádiz side who start this round directly above the bottom three, essentially rendering this a ‘must win’ game for Granada.

However, Granada are in terrible form and haven’t emerged victorious in a LL game since late August (D5, L10), although they’ve at least managed to win seven of their measly eight points haul at Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes this season. Despite never winning a LL H2H (D3, L1), they can at least take some confidence in the fact they have won more games against Cádiz in all competitions (24) than any other opponent.

Given Granada’s failure to score in either of the two home top-flight H2Hs and Cádiz’s five-match LL drawing streak, history would suggest this game could be heading for a goalless draw. That was also the result when Cádiz last took to the pitch before Christmas at home to Sociedad, although their four away draws this season all ended 1-1.

Despite knowing that a win will pull them further clear of another relegation rival, victory does seem to be an unlikely outcome for the visitors, who haven’t won an away league game yet this season (D4, L5). Poor second half performances can certainly shoulder some of the blame for their travelling woes, as their ten away league goals conceded after half-time is amongst the highest in the division, while their sole goal scored is an outright LL-low!

Players to watch: Granada’s Myrto Uzuni promises to threaten CĂĄdiz’s second-half fragilities, with four of his five LL goals this term arriving after the break. RubĂ©n Alcaraz might resort to underhand tactics if he gets a chance to keep him quiet, given he’s already collected eight LL yellow cards this season.

Hot stat: Granada’s home league matches this term have averaged a league-high two first-half goals per game.
