Greece England prediction 2024-11-14

Greece vs England prediction: EUROPE: UEFA Nations League – League B betting tips on match 2024-11-13 19:45.
[p]Greece stand on the brink of making UEFA Nations League (UNL) history as they could be promoted to League A for the first time ever. With this their maiden League B campaign, it would be a phenomenal achievement for Greece to get to the UNL’s top table at the first attempt, and they’ll book their spot there for the next cycle if they simply avoid defeat against England.[/p]

[p]They should feel confident of doing so after winning the reverse H2H 2-1 at Wembley, although they’ll have to overcome the psychological hurdle of having never beaten England in Greece (L4). The Greeks are the only side in League B with a 100% record though, and with eight wins from 11 UNL home games (D2, L1), the chances of securing promotion here appear plentiful.[/p]

[p]England will be quick to point out that none of those games came against a side ranked anywhere near as highly as themselves, and the Three Lions know they have to end that run if they’re to get promoted. Most deem it a travesty England find themselves in League B in the first place, so for caretaker boss Lee Carsley to fail to get them back into the top-flight would be a damning indictment of his managerial capabilities. [/p]

[p]This pair of games will be Carsley’s last in the post as he makes way for the incoming Thomas Tuchel, and having won both of their UNL away games by two goal margins this cycle, the German boss will still hope to take over his new side already back in League A. Second spot would consign them to a promotion play-off, so they’ll be keen to secure another two-goal margin win to tip the H2H balance in their favour with a tie for top spot looking increasingly likely. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: A Fotis Ioannidis goal could secure Greece promotion as they’ve never lost when he’s been on the scoresheet (W3, D1) – including two games in this cycle. Cole Palmer has been given a chance to impress by Carsley and his last four scoring appearances at club level saw him net the third goal of the game.  [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Greece have kept a clean sheet in nine of their 11 UNL home games.[/p]
