Heidenheim Bochum prediction 2025-05-02

Heidenheim vs Bochum prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-05-01 18:30.
[p]Heidenheim snapped a run of three successive Bundesliga defeats with a 1-0 win at Stuttgart. Although victory was certainly a step in the right direction, they still only sit in the relegation play-off spot, and in truth, that’s about as good as it’s potentially going to get for Heidenheim, who are five points adrift of definite safety with only three games remaining in the season. [/p]

[p]They could be confirmed bottom-three finishers if they fail to beat Bochum and other results work against them over the weekend. To avoid falling to that feat this weekend, the Bundesliga’s worst-performing home side this season (W3, D1, L11) will have to snap a torrid eight-match winless H2H run against Bochum (D2, L6), with five of those defeats coming without reply.[/p]

[p]Bochum’s return to the second tier of German football could be confirmed on this matchday. The Blues sit nine points adrift of definite safety, and anything other than a third away league win of the season here (D2, L11) will consign the Bundesliga’s joint-worst travelling side to relegation. Even a win may not be enough here if Hoffenheim avoid defeat in their game on Saturday.[/p]

[p]Finishing 16th and in the relegation play-off spot is as good as it’s realistically going to get for Bochum, and beating the side currently occupying that spot would significantly boost those hopes. They are encouragingly unbeaten against their fellow bottom-three sides this season (W1, D2), but given only one team in the Bundesliga this century has started matchday 32 bottom of the league and gone on to survive, history is firmly against them.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Heidenheim’s Mathias Honsak scored the winner against Stuttgart, but given that goal ended a five-game winless run of scoring appearances (D1, L4), a goal from him isn’t always the blessing it may seem. More of a lucky charm, Bochum’s Ibrahima Sissoko is the only Bochum player to score in both away wins, while he provided his only league assist in the reverse fixture, which they also won (2-0).[/p]

[p]Hot stat: No Heidenheim player has ever scored against Bochum in the Bundesliga as their only top-flight H2H goal was an own goal.[/p]
