Heidenheim Dortmund prediction 2025-02-01

Heidenheim vs Dortmund prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-01-31 14:30.
[p]Heidenheim slipped further away from safety after their 2-1 loss to Augsburg last weekend saw the gap to 15th-placed Hoffenheim increase to four points. It’s a concern that they’ve suffered back-to-back losses against bottom-half opposition, particularly as the most recent one came courtesy of Augsburg delivering the winning goal with the final attack of the game, leaving long-time head coach Frank Schmidt particularly “bitter” post-match. [/p]

[p]Schmidt also lamented a lack of fortune, but they might now be due a lucky break with their next game against poor travellers Borussia Dortmund. Home wins against Augsburg (4-0) and Union Berlin (2-0), two clubs close to Dortmund in the table, should drive belief in their ability to perform, even if their Bundesliga home record as a whole is uninspiring (W2, D1, L6). [/p]

[p]Like their hosts, Dortmund will have to juggle this competition with continental football in February after they progressed to the next stage of the UEFA Champions League. But their participation in next season’s continental competitions is far from assured after winning just one of their last eight Bundesliga fixtures (D4, L3), with interim manager Mike Tullberg seeing his side forfeit a two-goal lead at home to Bremen last weekend (D 2-2). [/p]

[p]His successor, newly named boss Niko Kovač, will take charge of his fourth Bundesliga club and needs to find a way to improve a defensive unit that has recorded just one clean sheet in this competition across their last 16 league games. That has been largely responsible for Dortmund losing six of their last eight league games away from home (W1, D1), but only time will tell whether they can forge a new way forward under a change of leadership. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Marvin Pieringer, Heidenheim’s leading league scorer this season, recorded one of his four Bundesliga 2024/25 goals in their 4-2 loss to Dortmund in September. Dortmund’s Emre Can has been short of goals lately, but could be inspired by memories of scoring in two of his three appearances against Heidenheim. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Ahead of the round, Heidenheim had conceded 3+ goals in more Bundesliga matches (nine) than any other club this season. [/p]
