Heidenheim Freiburg prediction 2024-09-21

Heidenheim vs Freiburg prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-09-20 13:30.
[p]Two wins and two clean sheets saw Heidenheim initially sitting atop the Bundesliga, but they were given a reality check by Borussia Dortmund on matchday three when they lost 4-2. That was only the second time in 12 league games that Heidenheim had been beaten (W5, D5) and they will be looking to return to winning ways this Saturday against a Freiburg side they avoided defeat against in both H2Hs last season (W1, D1).[/p]

[p]There will also be cause for celebration at the Voith-Arena as head coach Frank Schmidt completed 17 years in his position on Tuesday. His time in charge has been a remarkable success story, taking the side from the fifth tier of German football into Europe, where this season they will host the likes of Chelsea in the league phase of the UEFA Conference League![/p]

[p]Freiburg were another team in the division with a long-serving coach but Christian Streich called time on his tenure after 12 seasons at the end of the last campaign. His replacement, Julian Schuster, has picked up six points from his opening three league games but is yet to see the Breisgau Brazilians keep a league clean sheet, something he’d love to remedy here. [/p]

[p]Previous visits to Heidenheim have encountered a similar problem with four goals conceded across the two games (W1, L1), including a painful end last December when they led 2-1 in the 83rd minute but incredibly lost 3-2. Freiburg should arrive high in confidence though after producing a comeback of their own last week, coming from behind with two goals in four minutes to beat Bochum 2-1 on Saturday, with Schuster’s men now targeting their first back-to-back successes in the league since last December.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Former Freiburg man Maximilian Breunig will be pushing for a start after coming off the bench to score second-half goals in both of Heidenheim’s last two games. Another player familiar to both sides will be Freiburg forward Eren Dinkçi who spent last season on loan from Werder Bremen at Heidenheim – he’s netted the second goal of the game on six of his last seven scoring club appearances.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Freiburg have conceded first in their last four Bundesliga games, with their match against Heidenheim in May the last time they opened the scoring.[/p]
