Heidenheim Union Berlin prediction 2025-01-11

Heidenheim vs Union Berlin prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-01-10 14:30.
[p]After its traditional winter break, the Bundesliga makes its return for 2025 with Heidenheim hoping to hit the ground running and close the four-point gap to definite safety. Sitting seven points worse off than after 15 games of their maiden top-flight campaign last term, Heidenheim may be well placed to end their nine-game winless run in all competitions (D1, L8) after some well-needed rest from juggling European and domestic commitments.[/p]

[p]Playing at home hasn’t particularly provided any solace for Heidenheim, who haven’t won a league game on home soil since September (D1, L5), failing to score in four of those six fruitless games. The Bundesliga’s longest serving manager and local hero Frank Schmidt leads his men into battle against Union Berlin for the 15th time as a manager, and given his almost perfect home record (W6, L1), fans have room for cautious optimism. [/p]

[p]The outlook heading into the winter break was equally tragic for Union, who will also arrive into this clash on the back of a nine-game competitive winless run (D3, L6). In the away dugout for the first time will be Steffen Baumgart, now the Bundesliga’s shortest serving manager, who has a track record of improving struggling clubs, namely Cologne who he achieved a surprise European finish with.[/p]

[p]Baumgart is also no stranger to Schmidt’s tactics as he remains unbeaten against his opposite number after four personal touchline meetings (W2, D2). Such tactical nous will be required here on his Union debut, as the mid-table club continue to sink down the table following a run of one win in their last eight away league games this term (D2, L5). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Heidenheim have made the eye-catching signing of current 2.Bundesliga top-scorer Budu Zivzivadze (G12), who scored his team’s opener in six of his last seven scoring appearances. For Union, Jordan Siebatcheu could make an impact in this fixture after his three goal contributions in as many personal meetings against Heidenheim (G2, A1). [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Neither Heidenheim (L9) or Union (D3, L5) have won when conceding first in the league this season. [/p]
