Hertha Berlin Eintracht Frankfurt prediction 2022-08-13

Hertha Berlin vs Eintracht Frankfurt prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2022-08-12 13:30.
After losing their season opening Berlin derby by a dominant 3-1 scoreline, Hertha Berlin may be glad to return home to face the side they have beaten a joint club-high 30 times in Bundesliga encounters, Eintracht Frankfurt (W30, D18, L20). Having lost their first two games in 2021/22, Hertha now face the prospect of opening back-to-back top flight campaigns with two defeats for the first time ever!

Avoiding such a fate could be tough though, as Hertha have now lost their last three season opening home games. New boss Sandro Schwarz has had a tough start to life at the Hertha helm (L2), but would have been buoyed by the signing of his old Mainz winger Jean-Paul Boëtius during the week, a player who described Schwarz as his “football dad!”.

Fresh from losing the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid, Oliver Glasner’s Frankfurt may be forgiven for having some tired legs amongst their ranks after their trip back from Helsinki. The hangover from their Europa League success seems to have kicked in, with Frankfurt now winless in nine league games, which includes their joint biggest ever opening day defeat, a 6-1 trouncing by Bayern Munich.

That is joint with another 6-1 loss at the hands of none other than Hertha back in 2013, a result which would certainly not go down too well with the Frankfurt faithful if repeated. Perhaps inspiring confidence in the Eagles though is the fact that their last away win came at this venue back in March (4-1), a victory which secured a stunning 11 goal return across the last three away H2Hs.

Key battle: Hertha’s Marco Richter scored three match openers across his four scoring league appearances last term, three of those were also in home games. Trying to stop him will be Frankfurt captain and defensive midfielder Sebastian Rode, who is set to make his 200th Bundesliga appearance in this encounter!

Hot stat: Each of Oliver Glasner’s personal H2H wins against Hertha saw 2+ goal margins (W3, D1, L2).
