Hertha Berlin FC Koln prediction 2022-11-12

Hertha Berlin vs FC Koln prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2022-11-11 14:30.
Hertha Berlin boss Sandro Schwarz admitted his side need to “make serious improvements” after a 2-1 defeat to Stuttgart on Tuesday night extended their losing streak to three matches. Those defeats play part of a wider run of just one win in their last nine outings (D4, L4), a sequence which has seen Hertha drop into the Bundesliga relegation zone .

The sole victory in that run did come on home soil though, a 2-1 defeat of bottom club Schalke, which still stands as their only league success at the Olympiastadion Berlin this season. Hertha remain tough to beat there though, with their total of four draws the most home stalemates in the division this season (L2), but struggling to win at home remains a long term problem, as they have managed just three home league victories in 16 attempts in 2022 (D5, L8).

Perhaps the visit of Cologne will spark the hosts into life, given Hertha have won ten of their last 18 home H2H clashes (D4, L4). The visiting Billy Goats also arrive in the German capital low on confidence on the back of successive defeats, while losing five of their last nine Bundesliga outings (W2, D2) and conceding at least two goals on six occasions is sure to weigh heavy on the visitors.

Steffen Baumgart insists his side are playing better than the results suggest though, admitting it was “annoying” to lose after a solid performance in Wednesday’s 2-1 defeat at home to Bayer Leverkusen. However the Cologne boss needs to tighten up his side on the road, as they have conceded the second most away goals in the division (18), which is undoubtedly behind collecting just one win in seven away league outings this season (D3, L3).

Key battle: Dodi Lukébakio is Hertha’s top scorer with eight strikes this season, but has only won one of his goalscoring appearances (D3, L4). Trying to stop him will be Koln defender Benno Schmitz, who scored his first Bundesliga goal against Leverkusen on Wednesday and has lost just once in six H2H meetings with Hertha (W4, D1).

Hot stat: Ahead of the round, Hertha had seen both teams score in a joint-Bundesliga high ten matches.
