Holstein Kiel Freiburg prediction 2025-05-10

Holstein Kiel vs Freiburg prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-05-09 13:30.
[p]Just two games remain for Holstein Kiel to get themselves out of the bottom two, and they’ve responded to that pressure well as they enter their final home game on the back of consecutive Bundesliga wins for the first time. That represents as many victories as they had achieved in the 15 rounds prior (W2, D5, L8), yet it may still not be enough as defeat here coupled with a Heidenheim win would confirm their relegation. [/p]

[p]Kiel’s only realistic route to survival is via the relegation play-off, and a home game could be just the ticket to set up a grandstand finish on the final day, as the Holstein-Stadion is where Kiel have picked up four of their six seasonal league victories. However, conceding at least twice in all of their other home league games against top-half sides this season (W2, L6), Kiel seemingly have their work cut out to keep their winning run going here. [/p]

[p]This game has massive implications for Freiburg too, as they’re battling for a top-four finish and arrive here knowing that victory will mean they can finish no lower than sixth, which ultimately equates to European qualification. In fact, a triumph here coupled with favourable results elsewhere could even secure an unprecedented Champions League qualification in Julian Schuster’s first season as a manager.  [/p]

[p]That would be a seriously impressive feat which has been made possible by the fact they’ve dropped only two points against the bottom four (W6, D1), including a 3-2 victory in the reverse fixture. Sailing into a 3-0 lead before seeing off a late scare in that game, Freiburg will hope for a similarly strong start in their quest to not only make history, but also stretch their six-match unbeaten away league run (W4, D2).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: The two highest-scoring Japanese players in the Bundesliga this season lead the way for both clubs, with Kiel’s Shuto Machino (G11, A3) striking first before half-time in his last four scoring appearances. Freiburg’s Ritsu Dōan (G9, A8) has just one match opener from his last five strikes, but he did assist the eventual winner in the 3-2 reverse victory. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Freiburg have failed to win six of their last seven away games against Bundesliga debutants (D2, L4). [/p]
