Holstein Kiel vs Mainz prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-11-23 14:30.
[p]Bundesliga debutants Holstein Kiel have found it tough to adapt to life in the top-flight and they come into this latest round sitting second bottom. It’s difficult to find many silver linings for a side with just one league win to their name this season (D2, L7), but they did at least win their last home league game, ending a run of four successive 2+ goal margin Bundesliga defeats on home soil. [/p]
[p]That’s a feat they’ll hope to avoid against Mainz, and while H2H history is incredibly shallow, with this only the third meeting between these two sides (W1, L1), Kiel did win the only ever H2H they hosted back in 2011 (2-0). Replicating that feat seems highly unlikely, as Kiel have incredibly conceded 2+ goals in nine of their ten league outings this season. [/p]
[p]While Kiel battle with all their might against relegation, the picture is a little more positive for Mainz, who occupy a mid-table position coming into the round. Things could have looked a lot different had it not been for a 3-1 win against ten-man Borussia Dortmund prior to the international break which ended a three-match winless league run (D2, L1). [/p]
[p]Despite that dip in form suggesting Mainz are struggling, that couldn’t be further from the truth on the road. They’re unbeaten in Bundesliga away games this season (W2, D2) – one of just three sides who are – and given three of those games saw them score exactly three times, it’s safe to say they’re dangerous in the final third. [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Phil Harres has made an impact since being promoted into Kiel’s first team, having a hand in two of their last three league goals (G1, A1). Lee Jae-sung is in line to make his 100th Bundesliga appearance against the side Mainz signed him from, but incredibly he hasn’t scored an away goal since October 2022![/p]
[p]Hot stat: Ahead of the round, Holsten Kiel have conceded a league-high 16 first-half Bundesliga goals this season.[/p]
