Huddersfield Norwich prediction 2023-08-26

Huddersfield vs Norwich prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-08-25 14:00.
Although Huddersfield Town claimed their first point of the 2023/24 Championship campaign by drawing 1-1 with Middlesbrough on Saturday, this is now their worst three-game start to a league season since 2019/20 (D1, L2). Manager Neil Warnock remains positive though, saying they “thoroughly deserved” the point ahead of tricky upcoming fixtures against what he described as “top teams”, starting with Norwich City.

It’s easy to see why he might be keen to big up their next opponents, as the Terriers haven’t won a H2H anywhere since 2017 (D1, L3) and have won just one of the last five here (D2, L2). While Warnock may want to take some pressure off his players following a slow start to their campaign, Huddersfield fans might be in a more expectant mood, as despite their evident struggles, their side have only lost one of their last seven home league games (W3, D3).

Sunday was a day for records and milestones for those in green and yellow as Jonathan Rowe became the first Norwich player to score in the first four games of the season since Percy Varco did so in 1927/28 to help his team beat Millwall 3-1. Meanwhile, Ashley Barnes netted his 100th league goal as Norwich maintained their unbeaten start to the Championship campaign (W2, D1).

Manager David Wagner described it as a “top performance”, and the former Huddersfield boss is getting the right sort of tune out of the Canaries as they top the scoring charts after matchday three (nine goals). But a more robust showing at the back might now be the primary focus if they’re to continue that streak here, as Norwich are winless across their last four league away fixtures (D2, L2) despite scoring in each of them.

Players to watch: All three of Sorba Thomas’ goals since signing for Huddersfield arrived here after the 65th minute. Rowe’s remarkable scoring run for Norwich has peculiarly seen him net three times this term in either first or second-half stoppage-time!

Hot streak: Each of Huddersfield’s last seven competitive fixtures were level at half-time (FT: W3, D1, L3).
