Hull Blackpool prediction 2022-12-26

Hull vs Blackpool prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-12-25 15:00.
With half of the Championship season done and dusted, Hull City will be disappointed in their output thus far as they hover just one place above the relegation zone and opponents Blackpool, with just two points separating them. They should be in a more comfortable position though, as while just one defeat since the arrival of Liam Rosenior as coach is encouraging, the three draws over that period has stopped them pulling clear of the bottom three.

The MKM Stadium faithful will be nervously biting their nails as they’ve not witnessed their side pick up all three points in their last five league outings at home (D1, L4). It’s also been five matches since they’ve picked up a home league win against Blackpool (D3, L2), although winning this season’s reverse fixture 3-1 might inspire Hull to break that streak here.

Blackpool’s Championship struggles come off the back of a six-game winless run (D2, L4), although fighting back to earn a 1-1 draw against Cardiff last time out shows there’s plenty of fight left in Michael Appleton’s men yet. Whether they can build on that against Hull and give their fans a belated Christmas present remains to be seen, as they’ve lost their last four league matches played on Boxing Day.

The Seasiders have struggled on the road since going undefeated in three of their first four away league encounters this season (W2, D1), winning just one of the subsequent eight matches (D3, L4). One thing that has been consistent on Blackpool’s travels lately is goals, having seen both teams find the net in four of their last five away games.

Players to watch: Hull’s top-scorer Óscar Estupiñán has scored 16 of his last 19 league goals at home, while Blackpool top-scorer Jerry Yates has scored five goals past the 76th minute this campaign, with three serving as match winners.

Hot stat: Ahead of the round, no Championship team has seen the same half-time result replicated come full-time more than Hull this season (18 – tied with Blackburn and Birmingham).
