Hull Swansea prediction 2024-02-10

Hull vs Swansea prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2024-02-09 15:00.
Back-to-back 1-0 wins have seen Hull regain their advantage in the Championship play-off race, occupying sixth place with a game in hand on most of those in the chasing pack. Those narrow wins should come as no surprise given that outside of the top four, only Preston (nine) have been victorious by a one-goal margin more often than the Tigers (eight) in the division so far this season.

Another three points on Saturday would see Liam Rosenior’s side, who have only failed to score in two of their 15 home Championship games this season, record three straight league wins for the first time since January 2022. Coincidentally, the third victory in that run also came at home against this weekend’s opponents Swansea, who the Tigers haven’t lost to on home soil since 2014 (W5, D2 since)!

With recently-appointed boss Luke Williams still searching for his first league win (D1, L3), the Swans have now won just four of their last 19 Championship games overall (D6, L9). Such a poor run has left them in real danger of being dragged into the relegation battle, and as they start this round just five points above the bottom three, their breathing space is becoming tighter.

The Welsh outfit have lost their last three in the Championship, not aided in the slightest by the fact that in each of those they’ve conceded the opening goal within 20 minutes, twice being breached within just six minutes! While it’s not time to hit the panic button just yet, the prospect of four league defeats in a row for the first time since April 2021 looks a very real one for Swansea, who haven’t won an away league game since early December (D3, L2).

Players to watch: Hull’s Jaden Philogene has scored in each of his three career appearances against Swansea to date, all for different clubs (Stoke, Cardiff & Hull). Similarly, Jamie Paterson’s three career goals against Hull have all come for different clubs (Huddersfield, Bristol City & Swansea), and he’s never lost a game against them (W3, D6).

Hot stat: Swansea have kept just two away clean sheets in the league this season.
