Hull Watford prediction 2023-12-02

Hull vs Watford prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-12-01 15:00.
A thumping 4-1 win over strugglers Rotherham in midweek – Hull’s joint-biggest victory of the calendar year – got a glowing review from boss Liam Rosenior, who described the football they played as a “joy to watch”. As you’d expect, the Tigers chief demanded more of the same from his side, who after four wins in six (D1, L1), occupy the Championship’s final play-off spot coming into the round.

Rosenior will be delighted to be back on home soil again this weekend having lost just one league game at the MKM Stadium so far this season (W4, D4), with their most recent three all ending in victory. The positive omens continue when it comes to their H2H record against Saturday’s opponents Watford too, as the Tigers have won their previous two meetings in East Yorkshire.

A first victory in a decade at the MKM for the Hornets would certainly be timely, and could see them pick up back-to-back wins for just the second time this season. ValĂ©rien IsmaĂ«l’s side head north buoyed by a midweek three-point haul against Norwich at Vicarage Road, showing steel to come from two goals down to win 3-2, the first time they’ve won a league game this campaign when conceding first (D1, L6).

The record of just one defeat in eight (W4, D3) now paints a pretty picture for Watford as they try to recover from a slow start and climb back up the ladder towards the play-offs, but it does somewhat gloss over a woeful overall record away from home. They’ve won just two Championship games on the road as we reach the 12th and final month of 2023 (W2, D7, L9), with both coming by a 1-0 scoreline, although they ironically fell to a defeat by the same scoreline at this very ground within that run.

Players to watch: There’s no doubting Jaden Philogene-Bidace’s importance to Hull. He’s netted in four of their last six games, including a midweek brace, with four of those five goals coming in the second half. Watford’s problems on the road may not be as severe if they could get top scorer Mileta Rajović firing, but just two of his seven have come away from home, with both of those at Coventry in September in his first Championship road trip!

Hot stat: Four of the pair's five most recent H2Hs have seen a win ‘to nil’, with the other a goalless draw.
